"Avatar" - a fantastic film, made by James Cameron on his own script.

The film is set in 2154 on Pandora - the moon in the star system Alpha Centauri.

Working on "Avatar," Cameron began in 1994 when he wrote a 80-page outline of the script. Shootings were planned after completion of the "Titanic" and the movie should have been released in 1999, but, in the words of Cameron, the technology of the time were not ready to realize his vision of the film. Work on the language used by the alien race in the film began in the summer of 2005, and in early 2006, Cameron seriously engaged in the scenario and the fictional universe of "Avatar."

The film shows how the traditional version, and in the format 3D: RealD 3D, Dolby 3D, and IMAX 3D. Many believe the Avatar "a breakthrough in the technology of film production through stereoscopic cameras designed specifically for the movie. Some critics believe that the importance of this film by James Cameron for the film industry is comparable to the advent of color film.

The world premiere of "Avatar" was held in London on December 10, 2009, and in wide release movie came out December 18.
